Contract Scam: ICPC Summons Ogun Speaker

Contract Scam: ICPC Summons Ogun Speaker

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has summoned Ogun State Speaker, House of Assembly, Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, over alleged inflation of car contract.
It was gathered that there was inflation on the 28 cars (Toyota Avensis) bought for members House of Assembly as official vehicles at the rate of N6million each by the Speaker.
The Speaker, is however, expected to appear before the commission in Abuja today(monday) over a petition that was written against him. The Speaker, is also, expected to appear in Abuja alongside the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and some principal officers of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
It was gathered that the invitation letters from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has been received by the speaker and other invitees.
The allegation against the speaker reads “for conferring unfair advantage and inflating the price of 28 Toyota Avensis car bought for the honourable members as official cars to the inflated amount of N6million per Avensis.”
Meanwhile, the Media Consultant/National Coordinator, National Anti-Corruption Volunteer Corps, Folu Olamiti, confirmed the invitation extended to the Speaker and other members of the Assembly by ICPC.

This is a confirmation to my outcry since last year. They are looting our treasury and we are praising them blindly. Kindly wait until the end of their tenure, untold secretes will be made known to the public.

They are mortgaging our future before our feri-koro...The supposedly enlightened youths are busy singing their praises.

When will the young elites liberate their shallow thinking ?
When are we going to see beyond our nose ?

Our common destiny lies in our hands.

God bless Ogun State.
