Ogun State Transformation under Governor Amosun: How Prof Dora Akunyili goofed.

People with discerning mind(s) in Ogun state, kindly hear what an outsider (who doesn't have a sound knowledge on issues and developments of our immediate society) said about this inept government.
"What it takes some governors 4-6 years to do, someone has done it in less than 2 years. Governor Amosun has really transformed Ogun state"
-Prof. Dora Akunyili during the Pharmaceutical meeting held at OPL today.

With all modesty and humility, I want to know if she was dreaming while saying this!
Who transformed What ? Where ? When ? How ?
Aside Totoro » Ita Eko...What else has he done under two years ?
Ø  What are the parameters used to measure his performance so far?
  • Where's the free education that was promised?
  • Where's the free health services that was promised?
  • Where's the local economy transformation?
  • Where are the 10,000 jobs?
  • Where's the 50% reduction in Tertiary Institutions school fees?
  • What has really happened in less than two years that amounts to socio economic and political transformation?
  • Why are they praising a disguised failure?
  • Is it a must for such individual to comment on what they don't know or have cogent knowledge about?
    • Does she really understand what an average Ogun state indigene is experiencing under this dispensation? Maybe she needs to visit Omida Market.
  • Was she deliberately invited to come and commend a non-performing and focus-less government?
  • How much was she given (in cash or kind) that made her to utter such ironical statement?
The fact that she was once NAFDAC boss or Federal minister doesn't qualify her to utter such recommendation.
She assessed the government's performance from the top (what she heard from the governor) without considering the groaning of people at the grass-root level.
The world is changing on a daily basis. Economic Development trends are taking new and reasonable dimensions. All over the world, the most acceptable approach is called | Bottom » Up | Economic Development Model. Local » State » National not Top Bottom approach
This simply postulates that, in modern day Economic Development, the government at the top doesn't think for the people...rather, the people are charged with the responsibility of coming up with robust economic development initiatives that will drive their economy forward; the government simply plays the role of facilitating how such will be achieved.
A reasonable government at the top doesn't decide completely for the society it governs, especially when it comes to how local economies will be developed...rather the society decides and determines what they want. As a political leader, you can't think for the people; they are familiar with their terrain and they know more than you do. All you need is to be a listening leader who doesn't assume the role of Jerk.
The jittery apologist and cyber sycophants will so much appreciate this commendation simply because they've allowed hatred for previous administrations in Ogun State and sentiment for the present one to be-cloud their reasoning.
They hardly know how to distinguish between real developmental projects and initiatives that will drive our local economy forward, and mundane projects and initiative that doesn't have far reaching good multiplier effects on our economy as a state right from the local dwellers.
For this government to be praised by anyone, we simply need to assess its performance from the grass-root (Local Government) up to the state level.
Why will someone praise a state government when all the Local government under its jurisdiction are financially incapacitated to execute a single project under 3 months of their assumption of office ?

Sukrumu Siramu...we see when we CRY!
