Urban Renewal and Our Fashion Parade Governor

My Karid SF, you know I don’t agree with you on this forum, but on this occasion, I won’t hide from saying the truth whether Amosun (Fashion Parade Governor -FPG) and his fellow chop chop cabinet members like it or not. What the FPG is doing in Abeokuta as far as I'm concerned is nothing but a misplacement of priority. It clearly shows that despite being an FCA, he still doesn't know how to place priorities. This is very unfortunate.

There are so many more important and pressing things seriously begging for attention in our dear Ogun state and thes would not gulp 1/8 of the huge funds he is sinking in Abeokuta all in d name of urbanization or what did he call it? I have mentioned some of them before on this forum. See the roads in Ijoko, Ogba Ayo, Ilo Awela, Sango Plaza, Dalemo (Sango) etc. You can't ply these roads even with Toyota Tundra as high as d vehicle is. Same thing applies in other parts of the state. I see it this way- Abeokuta before now has roads only that there are pot holes here and there. why not fill the pot holes, clear  the drainages and focus on giving roads to those who could not go and or come in with their vehicles?

If you, SF Ojo, for instance, lives in a wooden house (popularly called 'boldoff') and I live under the bridge and a newly elected governor came and said he could only build house for either of us (you or me) because of his limited resources and the governor now chose to demolish your 'boldoff' and start to put up a fanciful block of duplex for you (with cement blocks o) leaving me under the bridge to die in rain, cold, sun and heat, what sense is in his decision? Why not maintain your 'boldoff' for you and even build a similar 'boldoff' for me and take me away from under the bridge. This will cost him less compared with the cost of d duplex and the savings here could be used to touch other pressing infrastructural projects and create jobs for our able bodied youths.

I believe very strongly that what he is doing in Abeokuta is to create a big opportunity for him and his political associates to 'CHOP' big money. SF, please come and visit Ado-Odo-Ota, the most industrialized LG in Ogun state & 2nd most industrialized LG in d country & you will weep for Ogun state - no roads within the various industrial estates here and this is where the bulk of the state's revenue comes from. Everyone here is now a water corporation because when you build your house, you must sink a borehole for you to get water and this costs not less than N200,000. How many people can afford this?

I am more than disappointed in this our FPG and his chop chop cabinet. The LGs are doing nothing other than to loot the LGs treasury every month when the allocation flows in and you won't see them again till money comes in the next month. All nah chop chop government. Demonstration of Craziness (thanks to Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memory). Days are passing by and we are watching and waiting. Another election time will soon roll in. And he would come with his pointed cap (fila gogoro) to campaign for re-election abi? We shall all see! The earlier he uses his brain for the betterment of d people of this state, the better for him and his political party, ACN (Amosun Chop Naira). Me I no be politician o.

I remain a social critic and Human Rights Activist to the core, I don't give a damn what the governor or his chop chop associate feels. My concern is people's welfare and dividends of democracy for us ALL.
Omo Ogun Ise ya! Ogun oni baja loju wa o. Ire o!

LSF Dotun E.
